Chris Long
President

Chris has a broad business background, a significant part of it spent in South East Asia.  After graduating in Commerce/Economics in Sydney he joined Rio Tinto in London as a project analyst, before moving with his young family to live and work firstly in Indonesia, then Malaysia and Singapore and finally to Melbourne.

In 1992 he set up his own business in the field of marine instrumentation and engineering which became an international leader in its field. 

Following his retirement in 2007 he became a volunteer with Great Connections, a Melbourne based organisation, which provides a conduit between not-for-profit groups seeking assistance and retired individuals with free time and skills to assist in a range of disciplines, who connected him with CISMFA.

He undertook to review and make recommendations for the strategic direction and financial wellbeing of CISMFA and recently agreed to take over as President and to implement some of these recommendations.

Rob Gordon
PH.D.

Vice President

Rob is a Clinical Psychologist; for nineteen years, he was Clinical Director of the CISM Service of the Victorian Dept of Human Services.  He is a Psychological Consultant to the Victorian Emergency Management Plan and the International Operations Department of Australian Red Cross as well as a number of other welfare and humanitarian agencies.  He has been involved in the field of trauma and critical incident stress for over 25 years and provides regular training courses and workshops in Critical Incident Stress Magement and Debriefing, Psychological First Aid and Trauma Treatment and Management to a wide range of government and non-government agencies in the area, and has published a number of articles and book chapters.  He has consulted to schools and universities for a range of incidents, accidents, suicide, murder and other events. 

He conducts a private psychotherapy practice in Box Hill Victoria.  He specialises in group psychotherapy and treatment of posttraumatic stress in children, adolescents and adults. 

Annie Cantwell-Bartl
BA, RN
Secretary

Annie is a trained nurse and a psychologist who is currently enrolled in a Doctorate of Clinical Science at Latrobe University. Though now in private practice, she has held research, teaching and counselling appointments and worked in Universities, prisons and welfare settings. She has a special interests in loss and grief, disability and its impact on the family, womens issues and working with the media. Annie has received awards for adademic excellence and community education.

Paul Scott

Treasurer

Paul manages the welfare program for the NSW Rural Fire Service. He previously worked for the Salvation Army where he was responsible for managing 33 social and community service programs. Paul was the National Project Director for the “Veteran’s Line” (joint Salvation Army/Vietnam Veteran’s Counselling Service project) and has worked in the NSW Police Victim Assistance Program and NSW Ambulance Service Paramedic training in Crisis Intervention. Paul is an accredited trainer with CISMFA.

Alexina Baldini

Alexina Baldini is a psychologist and a Director of Caraniche, a private company specialising in the provision of support services, training and consultation to a wide range of workplaces. She has a background in disability services, child, adolescent and family services and forensic psychology both within the government and private sectors. Alexina has been a trainer with CISMFA for a number of years.

Monica Kleinman
B.A.  Dip.Ed.  M.Ed. MAPS

Monica is the senior psychologist and a director of Psychological Resources in Sydney.  She is Clinical Director of the NSW SES Critical Incident Stress Management Program.  She is also a Captain with the Australian Army Reserve Psychology Corp.  Monica has authored and manages the new training program in Accidental Counselling for Australian Defence Force personnel.  She also co-authored Responding to Critical Incidents in Schools.

Matthew Richman
BA, GradCert (PolStud)

Matthew has been a member of Tasmania Police since 1984. In 1995 he was appointed as the Manager of the Tasmanian Emergency Services Critical Incident Stress Management Program and was responsible for the delivery of CISM Services in the aftermath of the Port Arthur Incident. Matthew's key interests lie in the management of CISM Services, pre-incident education, and responding to large scale incidents. Matthew has written widely on these areas and has presented at national and international conferences. He is an Inspector of Police and continues to serve as a peer supporter.

Charles Blizzard
AFSM  

Charles Blizzard joined the Tasmania Fire Service in 1974, was promoted to a Station Officer in 1981. Charles began as a Peer with the Tasmanian Emergency Services CISM Program in 1994. He spent two years as the Southern Liaison Officer and in February 1997,was appointed to the position of Program Manager. He has a wealth of experience in providing and managing CISM responses to emergency services personnel from the Tasmanian
Ambulance Service,Tasmania Fire Service, Tasmania Police and the State Emergency Services. He manages all aspects of the peer program (Budgeting, recruitment, training, education etc ) and ensures there is a omprehensive
service available 24/7. Charles was awarded the Australian Fire Service Medal in 2003.
